MCDS Google Group Instructions

• The purpose of this Google Group is to allow MCDS Board members to post reports and discuss issues outside of the Tuesday night meetings.
• Participation in this group is by invitation only. It is managed by Dr. Robert Silverstein.
  • If you are not currently a member of the group but have previously registered with Google Groups, click on this link, then click on the Contact the Owner link to request to join.
  • If you have not registered with Google Groups, you will be provided an opportunity to do so after clicking on the Contact the Owner link. Make sure you use the same email address during registering with Google as you plan to submit to join the MCDS group.
• Logging in: click on the link above and provide your email address and password that you used to register with Google Groups. If you change your email address, you will need to re-register with Google Groups using your new email address. You will then also need to re-request membership in the MCDS group as per above.
• Posting a mesage via the group web page
  • Click on an existing thread (topic) and reply to the poster. Your post will appear when you click on the link listing the number of messages.
  • Click on the green "MCDS" link to go back to the first page
  • Click on the "Start a new topic" to post information unrelated to previous posts
  • Attachments cannot be posted via the web page. However, if someone has posted an attachment, it can only be viewed and downloaded using the web page (see below under posting via your email client)
  • Reports can be posted via copy and paste (copy them to the clipboard using whatever program you used to write the report, then paste it into the window after starting a new topic
• Posting a message with or without an attachment via your email client (program)
  • send an email to [email protected]
  • attach a file if you need to before sending the message
  • do not reply to an email digest of the previous day's postings - the message will not be posted on the google group site this way
• Viewing postings
  • via the web site: your posts appear within a minute of posting them.
  • via your email client: posts are sent to the group as they are received. To respond, just reply to the emails that you get.
