Terry T. Tanaka, D.D.S., is Clinical Professor at the University of Southern California, School of Dentistry, Advanced Education Prosthodontics and maintains a private practice in prosthodontics in Chula Vista, California. Dr. Tanaka holds fellowships in the Academy of Dentistry International, American College of Dentists, International College of Dentists and Master in the Academy of General Dentistry, and is a Diplomate, American Board of Orofacial Pain. He has published numerous articles and is widely recognized for his teaching of advanced restorative and prosthodontic procedures and as a research anatomist.. An active Rotarian, he helped found the Thousand Smiles Foundation Cleft Lip and Palate Surgery and Dental Care Mission Clinics that provide free craniofacial reconstructive surgeries and dental care for needy children in Latin America. He is especially pleased that the Academy of Dentistry International has named an award the Terry Tanaka Student Humanitarian Award and presented to a Junior dental student who exhibits his kind of humanitarianism.
Important diagnostic criteria for the restoration of every-day restorative problems will be presented in this interactive program that will highlight what is taught in advanced graduate restorative programs that is critical to the success of all restorations. New guidelines will be presented on how age, gender, facial morphology and oral habits affect the dentition and the overall well being of our patients. Doctors, dental assistants and dental hygienists will have an opportunity to treatment plan together as a team using these universal guidelines developed by Dr. Tanaka.
Practical diagnostic guidelines for the treatment of patients with temporomandibular disorders will be presented with indications for effective stabilizing splints and how they are used for patients with tooth wear problems. In addition, videos on how to fabricate splints in your own office and how to adjust the splints in the mouth in 5 minutes will be part of this comprehensive and interactive program Come prepared with pen and paper, this is an "interactive workshop."
